GollyWhopper Classic

June 19–21 – Fishing Tournament in Mexico Beach

The GollyWhopper Classic is a signature summer fishing tournament hosted by the Mexico Beach Department of Public Safety–Fire Rescue. The event starts with a Captain's Party on Friday, June 20, featuring food, live music, and door prizes starting at 5 p.m.

The main tournament takes place on Saturday, June 21, with weigh-ins scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Mexico Beach Boat Ramp Park. Anglers compete in categories such as Red Snapper, King Mackerel, and Grouper, with opportunities to win cash prizes. The tournament welcomes seasoned anglers and newcomers, including a youth division to encourage family participation.

July 3rd Waterfront Celebration

Apalachicola’s annual July 3rd Waterfront Celebration is one of the most anticipated summer events on Florida’s Forgotten Coast.
